Rob Smith

The founding member of the flock, Rob is from the creative side of the agency world, starting life as a copywriter and becoming Creative Director of agencies he worked at, before setting up Blacksheep.

He’s very hands on creatively and has a passion for producing stand-out campaigns that deliver fabulous returns on investment.

“Having been in the industry for (and I can’t believe this) around 25 years, I’ve been privileged to work with some phenomenal international and national blue-chip house-hold names, as well as some amazing entrepreneurial local companies. What I love most, and what keeps me going, is that no two briefs are ever the same!”

Rob has a degree in Psychology and is just about to complete his Masters in Consumer Psychology.

 

Dr Gareth Harvey

Consumer Psychology Adviser

After obtaining a PhD from Bangor University in 2012, Gareth has developed psychological interventions for a diverse range of brands, from Coca Cola to the National Trust, and he now specializes in understanding how unconscious factors influence consumer behavior. While not writing about himself in the third person, Gareth can be found trying to avoid falling off mountains and windsurf boards around North Wales.

 

Martin Patmore

Director

Martin heads up the Agency’s account teams and prior to joining Blacksheep, worked for some of the world’s biggest agencies. A self-proclaimed explorer, builder and proactive idealist, Martin ensures that our account teams are personally invested in helping our clients business succeed. Martin started his career at WBB in Liverpool and went on to become CEO at Grey Global. He ran the Nissan account at TBWA and oversaw the Intel business at Havas. A keen but not very good golfer, Martin spend most of his weekend as a taxi driver for his two sons and Tesco delivery driver for his wife.

 

Ian Hazeldine

Head of Design

Ian has been working with the team for 20 years and has worked across Blue Chip and local brands alike. Ian ran the Shell Global Solutions re-brand as well as overseeing the creative output of the agency over the past few decades.
Ian loves working across multiple sectors and has been involved in the branding, positioning and promotion of household names as well as local companies.

Mark Toner

Head of Digital

Mark is the Agency’s Head of Technology. Prior to joining he worked as Group Head of SEO for the largest Online Travel Agent in Europe, heading a team of specialists and responsible for over 60M non-branded organic visits per year.

After graduating Mark began his career as a front-end developer and programmer working for various technology start-ups in Europe.
His experience covers all forms of online marketing, user experience and server administration.
